New Haringey-wide Induction to Protect Children
From April 2010, all new Haringey employees will receive Haringey’s Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) multi-agency Induction Training To Protect Children.
Haringey LSCB’s remit is to ensure that safeguarding and protection of children in Haringey is effectively coordinated across the different agencies who may come into contact with children.
This new Haringey-wide Induction to Protect Children results from Haringey’s Safeguarding Plan which aims to raise outcomes for children across the borough.
A common standard of knowledge
In order to keep children safe, we all need to share information appropriately. This training ensures that we all share a common standard of knowledge from the start of our employment.
All new employees will complete the eLearning Safeguarding Children course within their first two weeks of employment.
Some employees (those with more contact with children – Groups B & C) will also complete a one-day training course within the first couple of months of service.

Managers’ Responsibility
Managers will be responsible for ensuring that their new employees comply with these induction processes within the allocated timescales.
